The Society always appreciates feedback on Transactions, ideas for future articles and contributions; these should be sent to the editor (John Winterton) at

Contributors are asked to follow the Transactions style sheet, which may be viewed (and printed off) here.

Important Announcement

Please note that the latest (March 2020) revision of the style sheet contains a number of changes, notably in terms of switching from the Harvard (author/date) system of reference citations to the use of endnotes for this purpose (as per the Modern Humanities Research Association system). All prospective contributors are asked to follow this new style. The editor would be happy to advise on any stylistic queries.

Abstracts of past editions of Transactions are listed here. Copies can be obtained by emailing the Society at Please note that a small charge to cover the cost of postage will be made.
