Annual Supper: September 22  2018

Our Annual Supper will be presided over by Henry Hitchings, our new President. Henry is an author and journalist who has written extensively about language and cultural history and writes for the Evening Standard, the Financial Times, the Guardian and The Wall Street Journal. He has written extensively on Johnson and his latest book is entitled The World in 38 Chapters, or Dr Johnson’s Guide to Life. Henry is an erudite and witty speaker and will elegantly grace the Supper. The Supper is priced £42 pp and is a sumptuous candle-lit affair held in the splendour of the Guildhall in Lichfield from 7pm. It is open to all members of the public, not just members of the Johnson Society. It is a great annual occasion attended by civic dignitaries and all will be made to welcome.
